The Skin Failure SIG at PAWSIC is a patient-centered, interprofessional group championing the understanding and clinical recognition of skin failure as a unique condition within post-acute care.

Serve as a trusted advocate for recognizing skin failure as a distinct clinical entity, separate from pressure injuries, and promote evidence-based differentiation across care settings.

It is recognized as a distinct condition from pressure injuries, though the two may coexist. The SF SIG works to advance clinical recognition and evidence-based approaches to assessing and documenting skin failure.
