Mary Martin, BSN, RN, CWS is a board-certified wound specialist, nursing educator, and healthcare consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in wound care, post-acute leadership, and clinician education. She previously served as Clinical Quality Lead at Tissue Health Plus, where she helped implement mobile wound documentation and standardized wound photography workflows to improve assessment accuracy, communication, and continuity of care in long-term care settings. Mary is the creator of the Martin-WISE (Wound Insights for Self-Care Engagement) Scale, a wound literacy assessment framework designed to support patient-centered education and engagement in wound care. She currently serves as Nursing Faculty at West Virginia Junior College, Patient Advocate and Consultant through Mary Martin Consulting, LLC, and Co-Chair of the Education Committee for the Post-Acute Wound & Skin Integrity Council (PAWSIC). She frequently presents on wound literacy, patient engagement, and practical strategies to improve wound care outcomes across healthcare settings.
