Objectives
Understand the Structure and Roles of Wound Provider Groups
Identify key structural considerations for wound care programs, including employment models, service locations, regulatory compliance, and differences in reimbursement across care settings, and explain how these factors influence access to timely and appropriate wound care, continuity of treatment, and overall patient outcomes.
Recognize how available resources and competencies vary by location
Explain how differences in staffing, training, wound care expertise, and access to advanced therapies impact the delivery of wound care in different settings, and describe how these variations can lead to disparities in wound healing, infection control, and patient quality of life.
Point out differences that affect care planning for patients with chronic wounds
Highlight variations in service availability, provider expertise, regulatory requirements, and discharge planning that influence wound management across care settings, and discuss how these differences affect wound healing trajectories, patient adherence to treatment, and long-term outcomes such as recurrence or complications.
